Choices

One day, over the summer, I made a positive choice. I was at my dad's house in Florida, when my family and I heard about a neighbor that was going through some harad times. She was having heart problems and had to move soon. My family and I wanted to help her, but we didn't know what to do. We each decided to do one thing to help that we were good at. My dad mowed her lawn, so that it would look good for the open house. My stepmother cooked her some heart healthy meals to get her through the week. I decided to volunteer my time to our neighbor. Over the week, I helped her pack stuff into boxes, clean her house and run errands with her. During one errand, she started to feel very dizzy and like she couldn't sit-up anymore. We were already driving, so she stopped at her doctor's office. We waited for a while and I was very frightened. The doctor talked to my neighbor for a while and said that she was okay to drive home but had to lie down as soon as she got there. After that we helped her even more. It felt good to be there in someone's time of need.
